FY2023/24

Emergency Disaster Preparedness
Our Listos California Campaign provides outreach and education activities to vulnerable, at-risk communities in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Our engagement staff conduct outreach to residents at various community events, promote CERT trainings in the region, and facilitate educational presentations on emergency disaster preparedness.

Health and human rights

NCF advocates for local and regional laws and policies that promote health and human rights:
  • Strengthening programs and initiatives that address the social determinants of health for vulnerable populations and communities of color;

  • Promoting the declaration of Racism as a public health issue at the local, regional, and state level;

  • Establishing policies and legislation that promote health equity for people of color and initiatives for “Healthcare for All”;

  • Protecting women’s rights and access to reproductive healthcare;

poverty and economic justice

NCF advocates for laws and policies that eliminate poverty and increase economic justice for low-income residents and underserved communities.
  • Developing policies and legislation to establish Reparations for Black Americans in the State of California;

  • Providing affordable housing for low-to-moderate income households in the Inland Empire Region;

  • Increasing job opportunities for low-to-moderate-income households in the Inland Empire;

  • Developing legislation and policies for equal pay protection for women and minorities;

Racial justice and social equity

NCF advocates for laws and policies that ensure racial justice and social equity for BIPOC and communities of color.
  • We support programs that address racism and aim to eliminate systemic and institutional racial discrimination;

  • We support and promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) training and education to ensure social and racial equity in the workplace;

  • We support programs that work to increase racial equality and equity through restorative justice practices to promote individual and community healing;

Philanthropy and Racial Equity

NCF advocates for policy and systems change in philanthropy to address inequities impacting Black-led Organizations and communities of color.
  • Increasing philanthropic funding for Black-led Organizations in the Inland Empire Region;

  • Increasing the average grant amount that is distributed to nonprofits in the Inland Empire;

  • Increasing capacity building training and technical assistance for Black-led Organizations and BIPOC populations in the Inland Empire;

  • Improving racial equity in race-based programming and grantmaking for Black-led Organizations;

  • Supporting pay equity for Black-led Organizations in the nonprofit sector;

voting rights and democracy

NCF advocates for laws and policies that safeguard and protect the Voting Rights Act to preserve our democracy.
  • We advocate and endorse policies and legislation that uphold and preserve the Voting Rights Act;

  • We advocate and support policies and legislation at the regional and state levels that ensure a fair and equitable Redistricting Process for vulnerable communities and communities of color;

  • We support and promote laws and policy reform that eliminate voter suppression practices by elected officials and political groups;

  • We support and encourage voter education and registration drives for vulnerable communities and people of color;
